Q:Is Omega Really 5 Star Executive Standard

Q:Can I Cruise in Pittwater, Broken Bay AND the Hawkesbury
A: Houseboats cannot..!! BUT Omega can cruise Pittwater AND Broken Bay AND the Hawkesbury so you will see more, have more freedom and have lots more FUN!!
Q: Do I need a boat licence to skipper a Hire Boat?
A: No. Omega is under NSW Marine Survey you do not require a boat licence however you do require a briefing. Our briefing will cover safety, navigational, operational and a practical session as well as recommendations of places that we would love you to explore. On Board there is a map of Pittwater and the Hawkesbury. This will allow you time to familiarise yourself with the area and some destinations that you may wish to travel to.
Q: Wharves and Jetties ?
 A: It is important to note that charter boats are not allowed to come alongside any wharves or fixed structures, but you can pick up a mooring and use the supplied dinghy to row ashore. Outboard motors, kayaks and SUPs are available for hire.
Q: Is a dinghy Included?
A: Yes a tender is available to every charter. Omega's normal dinghy is a SmartWave 2400 made in New Zealand. Very stable dinghy and easy to row. An outboard motor may also be hired and fitted if requested.
Q:What is Provided?
A: Omega is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, glassware, Coffee Plunger,  saucepans, frying pans and other kitchen utensils. Pillows and Blankets are provided. Provided also is, dish detergent, tea towels, scrubbers & dish cloth, Hand wash, tissues, toilet paper, cling wrap & foil, Wine Glasses
Q:What do I pack?
A: You just need to bring sheets, pillow cases and towels, personal items, food and drink, grab 2 or 3 bags of ice on your way to the marina. We can provide sheets, pillow cases and towels if you prefer for just $15 per person.. Be aware when packing that storage and hanging space is limited on all boats and only soft bags should be used rather than suitcases. Non-slip, Non-Marking white or gum sole shoes are a must for safety on board.
Q: Is there a good refrigerator?
A: Yes there is a new 140 ltr Waeco electric refrigerator with a 12ltr freezer. There are also two iceboxes, one in the main cabin and one on the flybridge.
Q: Is there a BBQ and Oven?
A: Yes Omega has an excellent gass BBQ on the aft deck and a beautiful modern Force 10 stainless steel gass stove and oven with internal grill.
Q: Bring ICE Yes?
A: Yes Bring 2 or 3 Bags of ICE, There are 2 Insulated Cooler Boxes  on board so bring Ice. There is a  new refrigerator but we suggest that you keep it for food storage.
Q: Is a boating holiday convenient for children?
A: Omega is a little more suitable for children than others. Children are Not required  by law to wear a life jacket on board Omega. However we do suggest that young children wear a life vest when outside the cabin.  Church Point Charters will fit and supply children’s lifejackets to all hirers upon request.
Q:Can we be Located if there is a problem?
A:
?For your security a New GPS location system is installed which means Omega is quickly located if there is ever a personal Emergency, health, accident or assistance is required by you for any reason issue on board.
Please do not travel outside the Maritime approved area or motor after sunset or before sunrise as these activities will be noted by the system.
Q: Use of Life Jackets?
A: Law requires when children under 12 are in a dinghy a Life Jacket MUST be worn at all times. 12 years and over (incluging adults) MUST wear a Life Jacket only when.... in the ginghy alone..or.. at night. Everyone MUST wear a Life Jacket when more than 200m from shore. Life Jackets are provided and child lifejackets are available on request.
Q: Is there parking?
A: Yes. Princes Street Marina where you will board Omega has plenty of parking which is intended for our customers only. Trollies are also provided for your convenience.
Q: What is the mobile coverage like?
A: Telstra coverage is very good throughout Pittwater and most of the Hawkesbury however other phone service providers may not as receptive.
Q: Can I charge my mobile phone on board?
A: Yes, There is an inverter that provides 240 volt & USB outputs for phones, tablets and laptop charging  ONLY . Plus you have a 12volt socket with numerous socket adaptors to suit just about every phone for charging items such as a phone charger .
Q: How long will my water and fuel last?
A: With prudent use the water may last for a week or more BUT we do recommend to our hirers that for all bookings for 4 people or more and over 4 nights, cruisers return back to the home base for a mid-term maintenance schedule. We will pump your waste water, top-up your water tank and you will be back underway before you know it. Fuel is never an issue.
Q: Can I use normal household appliances on the boat?
A:. No you are not able to use household appliances.  There is also an inverter that provides 240 volts for for charging phones, tablets and laptops ONLY.  To maintain good power supply we recommend 2 to 3 hours engine running per day.
Q: Is fuel included?
A:  Fuel and Gas consumption are charged at $35 on the number of engine running hours at the end of the hire.
Q: Do we allow pets?
A: No. Due to National Park laws and Health and safety reasons we do not allow pets aboard.
Q: Can we eat out at restaurants while we are cruising.
A: Yes, there are some fabulous eateries and restaurants in Pittwater, Cottage Point, Bobin Head, Brooklyn, Berowra and many more, with moorings available directly out the front. We will be happy to recommend some great eateries, with some restaurants offering discounts to customers.
Q: Can we drive the boat at night?
A: No. The NSW Waterways survey requires  that all self-drive charter vessels are prohibited travel  at night, after sunset and before sunrise. We request that all boats are anchored an hour before official sunset.
Q: Are there any shops in the area?
A: There are excellent shopping centres at Mona Vale and Newport and excellent liquor stores. There is also a hotel and bottle shop at the Newport Arms Hotel. Ice is freely available around the area. For basic grocery items Palm Beach has two general stores, the first is opposite the wharf and the other — Palm Beach Cellars — is about 150m South. There are also restaurants, an RSL Club and a fish and chips shop in the area. Patonga and Cottage Point also have stores.
Q: Is there any music on board?
A: Omega is equipped with AM/FM radios and CD players ( Ipod compatible). Omega also has a TV and DVD player, but please be aware that there is poor or no TV reception in most places.
