1 Day

Be the Captain and Skipper a Clipper Cruiser is a wonderful way to spend an exciting or relaxed day is a leisurely cruise taking in the sights of Pittwater. Start with a slow cruise past the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, head west along Bayview to church point and Mc Carr’s Creek. Head north around Scotland Island, past beautiful Elvina Bay and Lovett’s Bay. Stop at Towlers Bay for morning tea and a dip.

After a break head out into Pittwater and proceed north past Portuguese Beach, the Basin, Currawong, Mackerel Beach Stop if calm and row ashore for a stroll.

Return to the Basin and pick up a mooring and settle back to the perfect backdrop for the ideal lunch. Maybe fire up the gas BBQ. Spend at least two or three hours here in this absolutely beautiful small protected bay,

After lunch, time permitting motor over to Palm Beach (take care of shallow water at mid to low tide) and meander back to home base checking out the eastern shores of Pittwater on the return.

Before heading home stop in at the famous Newport Arms Hotel Beer Garden and take in the beautiful sunsets over Pittwater. A fabulous end to any day.

7 Day Itinerary Suggestion

Day one, It is easy to spend a day or two or three and never leave Pittwater.
When getting underway you pass the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club and the Royal Motor Yacht Club filled with some magnificent craft.
Take the opportunity to cruise up the passage between Scotland Island and Bayview.As you round Scotland Island you pass McCarr’s Creek, Elvina Bay, Lovett’s Bay, Morning bay each bay have lovely cottages only accessable by water. Scotland Island also is only accessable by water, a serinic location for artists, writers looking for solitude and a degree of isolation.  Arriving at Towlers Bay, a beautifuland protected bay with plenty of moorings and a nice sandy beachwith a small stream fed from the hill behind.

From there continue to Coasters Retreat and The Basin. There is a National Parks facility with good amenities. (a small nominal fee for landing here to cover use of the facilities) There are some lovely walks from here and a great place to overnight.

Palm Beach is just across the bay with shops, Barrenjoey House Restaurant, great Fish shop and an RSL club. A little further north is the Seaplane jetty in Governor Philip Park, a top spot for Breakfast or Lunch.  Palm Beach Golf Club, Dunes Restaurant, or a walk up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse above Summer Bay where Home and Away is filmed.

·Days Two, Three and four, You may like to have a relaxing morning at Palm Beach as mentioned above or leave early in the morning to round West Head and proceed into Broken Bay and to the Hawkesbury and cruise up Cowan Waterway. Refuge Bay/Americas Bay is a must, Jerusalem Bay, Coal & Candle Creek are all very worthy of a visit. Smith Creek is a must and a visit to Bobin Head of course.
Overnight at Smith Creek, Refuge Bay, Jerusalem Bay or Dine and overnight at the fabulous Cottage Point Restaurant.

Day Five, Cruise up To Brooklyn, Dangar Island, Milsons Passage and proceed to either Spencer or to Berowra.. your choice and return to Refuge Bay, Hallett’s Beach or Jerusalem and mooring for the night.

Day Six & Seven From there your choice but Fish and Chips at Patonga is a great idea or stop in at the stunning Patonga Pub with its magnificent Beer gardenand awesome bar that came from the famous Adams Barat the old Hilton on George Street Sydney. A stroll around sleepy Patonga Village and a short walk over the back to the Creek is really fun.
Pick up a mooring back at Refuge or nearby or motor around to Pittwater for the night. Maybe have a final night dinner at Dunes or Barrenjoey House or Just chill out on a mooring in a quiet bay somewhere beautiful.

·Your final morning may be breakfast at the Seaplane wharf, or a sleep in, or a stroll along a beach, or a climb to the Lighthouse with spectacular views! Enjoy lunch and take your time slowly cruising back to the Church Point Carter Pick-Up Point
